About Me
I’m Nevaeh Estes— a professional artist and content creator.
Ever since I was a kid, I’ve had an interest in art. I think one of the reasons being because my grandmother owned a paint studio, and I would spend a lot of time there when I was little. On the days she wasn’t teaching, I’d play around with the paints and supplies. Although my art never looked that great, it was something I always enjoyed.
Eventually, I got hold of some pencils and immediately fell in love with that medium because unlike paint I had full control of every pencil stroke. Little did I know that it would feed into my perfectionism to the point it become debilitating. I struggled so much with wanting everything to look perfect, that I’d throw away what what felt like hundreds of drawings. It left me so frustrated that I stopped drawing altogether.
When I picked it back up, I promised myself I’d be more patient with myself. So anytime I messed up, I kept going. I also taught myself to find at least one thing I was proud of about the drawing. That mindset shift changed everything for me. All of a sudden felt like I was making huge strides with progress in my art, and for the first time, I could look at my art and actually be happy with the way it looked.
My family has always been supportive. One of the first pieces I truly felt proud of was a pet portrait my aunt asked me to do after her neighbor’s dog passed away. It took me over a month to finish. She paid me a whopping $100 for it (i thought i was rich!). That was the commission that made me realize how much I loved creating art that meant something to people. That’s where the idea to do custom portraits came to mind… (thanks to my parents even giving me the idea). So with their help I set up an Etsy shop and it landed me a couple more commissions!
Life got busy and I stopped doing art again for a while, but I decided to give it yet another shot. I started sharing on TikTok, and in February 2024, one of my livestreams went viral. All of the sudden, I was booked up for months for pet portraits! After that, I just kept continuing to build my account and grow my reach and as of now I have officially reached the point I get to do art and content creating full time!
Now I get to do what I love for a living! Creating meaningful art and getting to share the process with people that love what I do!
